Pelosi can walk away from the negotiating table *now* and things only get better for her: she gets more investigation, more litigation, more articles of impeachment, more angering of Trump, more time for inculpatory evidence to emerge in media

Lest you say, "What about optics?" Well—what about them? McConnell has repeatedly said that the House didn't do enough investigation. He wants more investigation. He demands more investigation. So, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't Pelosi just have to be like, "Uh, OK, if you insist?"
Look—dude's impeached. And right now, the fix is in on a trial—literally—inasmuch as the former NSA said, "Uh guys, I have inculpatory information about the president" and *not one Republican* would commit to listening to it. So—OK—let's move on. The House can keep investigating.
