I read the piece thinking "okay, sure, none of the three points are *wrong* per se, it's just that, what do they have to do with observability?" 🤔

I mean you could swap terms for "telemetry" or "monitoring" (or a dozen others) without changing the meaning of the piece.
Then I saw the author bio -- CTO of a monitoring company, acquired by a logging company -- and I understood.

A piece like this is not designed to inform. It's "me too!" marketing expressly designed to confuse users looking for observability into buying their shit instead.
I'd say more about this strategy but I'm trying to be less pointy.

If I were god I would sentence them to twenty years of purgatory, debugging microservices with only a rusty spoon and their own shit tools.
