A thread #1 If you leave your young child with any sitter, nanny, caregiver pls ensure they know what to do in case of child choking; have basic CPR training; first aid training especially for burns.
#2 Prevention is critical. Never warm baby bottle in microwave. Put bottle in bowl of warm water instead. Microwave can create very hot pockets and burn baby’s throat and mouth.
#3 Dont force feed babies. In case of accidental chocking turn baby upside down and hit back with palm of hand with upward strokes till object dislodges.
#4. In case of burn NEVER apply any oils or other substances to burn. Instead run cool water on burn. Get child to hospital immediately. Even what seems to be a small burn can result in serious complications.
#5. Never leave any baby or small child unattended near or in water. Not even for a few minutes. A child can drown even in a few inches of water. Kids are fast it can happen in a flash.
