Arizona has the worst of the worst theocrats in the country. Take @SylviaAllenAZ, she introduced a bill to ban any sex ed before 7th grade which means no explanation for menstruation for early bloomers who have defective parents as she would be. "It's the curse, daughter of Eve"
@SylviaAllenAZ That's not all, she wants to spread HIV by forbidding teachers from even saying the word homosexuality. She wants more kids to get STDs by forbidding education about safe sex.

I have always thought of myself as a far-left liberal Democrat. I support a liberation agenda that would free people from economic insecurity and from oppression based on their race, gender, religion, country of origin, sexual orientation, or immigration status.
However, I have never anticipated or wanted a political revolution. I believe in reformation, not revolution. I believe in compromise and consensus, not coercion. It's one reason I have such antipathy toward Sanders whose entire "movement" eschews the kinds of efforts
that would create the conditions for reform. He is not interested in party-building and changing the face of Congress in a meaningful way. So I guess he plans to pass it through diktat.

This is an important insight. Bernie will fight for (not pass) single-payer health care, free college, loan forgiveness, and that's just the beginning of his list of promises, but he won't fight for anything that does not help white people more.
When he is asked about reparations, he highlights Rep. Clyburn's 10-20-30 idea. It was a genius idea of redirecting more budget money to impoverished communities, particularly when the GOP controlled the House. Paul Ryan loved it. There is a reason why.

So, I was washing dishes when my DVR of Deadline Whitehouse ended and #Hardball, a show I hate came on. The topic was Buttigieg and it was such terrible coverage. In awe of Buttigieg growth. Anyway, Matthews voiced appropriate disdain for Buttligieg - 8000 VOTES?
He wants to know why he's doing so well, but then Cornell Belcher called him "anti-establishment", huh? Then the discussion went to why so little Black support. Video of Rep Anthony Brown, the same if Black voters only knew more. So Matthews wants to make the homophobe argument
Cornell says he has trouble with Black voters in his own town. In his city! But get specific, tell them why Black people don't trust him. No one says, just an insinuation about his being gay from Matthews. Then he says the more we talk, the more it helps Bernie

This is such a shocking response. I've tried to set out why:
1/ I spent years at EDO fighting in court to make sure Qld enviro laws did recognise climate impacts of digging up & exporting coal = "environmental harm" (called "Scope 3" emissions).
Unfortunately, in the Court of Appeal, lawyers for the Qld Labor govt (working for Steven Miles) argued in court that Qld envt laws did NOT cover these impacts (i.e. 90% of the climate impacts from coal mine). Ironically, the govt lawyers were defending the Qld approval of..
..billionaire Gina Rhinehardt's massive Alpha coal mine in.. you guessed it,, the Galilee Basin, right next door to Adani. The Deputy Premier didn't mention that on radio, and didn't mention that her government could have changed Qld law to fix this flaw at any time since 2015.

I'm fed up because lots of people have done the #RSE consultation - sex ed experts, menstruation researchers, womb-related illness charities, fertility experts, PSHE teachers, student charities, school pupils, parents, you name it. 2/?
I am so cross I have not threaded my tweets properly. And even the consultation response document acknowledged loads of ppl mentioned periods, yet the guy who presumably wrote it does not understand menstruation enough, because he 'limited' teaching of it. 3/?
Like... does @DamianHinds understand that menarche and menopause bookend the menovulatory lifetime? Is he punking us and making a 'limits' 'end of menstruation' 'menopause' joke? Sorry - I need a cup of tea. 4/?
