It has become a common practice among Muslims to begin speeches or delivering lectures without invoking Allah's name. We, most times, begin by the conventional protocol, forgetting the Islamic protocol.
“Every sermon (lectures, speech) that is devoid of tashahhud is like an amputated hand [that is devoid of benefit].” As-Saheehah, no. 169.
Shaykh Nasiruddeen al-Albaanee (RH) commented on the above hadeeth thus:
"Indeed, all praise is due to Allaah. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from evils of our souls, and our wrong doings. He whom Allaah guides, no one can misguide, and he whom He misguides, no one can guide, and I bear witness
