@FDRLST @AndrewCMcCarthy @carterwpage 3/3 So, while FISA court is justifiably outraged at DOJ's fraud, the court is far from blameless. And as the IG report also reveals, the court/court adviser was too susceptible to the "whispers" coming from DOJ in deciding on application.

I think I have this right: A low-level Trump aide said over drinks that Russians have dirt on Hillary. So FBI launched investigation into Trump campaign to determine if anyone on campaign colluded w/ Russia. Investigation included secret wiretaps of campaign info, spying on 1/
2/ high level campaign members, including by FBI agent during an intel briefing, and falsifying of evidence. FBI response: "ooppps, my bad. We'll do training video." On other hand, VP Biden brags on video of threatening to w/hold aid to prompt firing of prosecutor that
3/3 sniffing around his son's Ukraine business. Once Trump takes office--Trump who "calls him as he sees them" says on call to Ukraine you should look into this bad stuff. And that's an impeachable offense. Okay, got it. END

Although many media organizations are trying to focus on the IG’s finding that the @FBI was within its rights in opening the initial counterintelligence investigation, it should be noted that this was not the focus of the IG’s investigation.
However, Horowitz did note that he had material concerns about the @FBI’s legal ability to open an investigation into the campaign of a presidential candidate:

@Comey's is the greasy slimey misdirection of the guilty. The FISA Court AUTHORIZED or APPROVED the surveillance; if an application or request from the #ObamaDOJ or the #ObamaFBI had not instigated it, there would have been no FISA surveillance.
@Comey can't wash the stain of his grotesquely anti-American conduct off his hands, and he surely cannot succeed in attempting to deflect responsibility to the #FISA #Court.

That #SteeleDossier was so weak & unverified, in Oct. 2016, the FBI proffered a NEWS STORY written by Michael Isikoff of Yahoo News to 'corroborate' the dossier.

The problem with that? Steele was *also* Isikoff's source for that story.
