The biggest problem I have with my name is that my name, as listed on most official documents, is a name that I don't use in social or professional settings.
Angus is my middle name, but though it's the name my parents, friends, family, any everyone else who's ever known me has always called me, people who read my name from a form often call me a different name.
Which is one of the big reasons that I let my students tell me what name they'd prefer to be called, rather than defaulting to the name on the form and forcing them to correct me.
(The biggest problem with my name is a very small problem, by the way. But for other people whose name doesn't match up with the forms, it's a much more serious issue, for any of several reasons.)
