Do you want to be relying on supertankers carrying highly volatile gas to give us energy?
Ships won't go in weather like this, but there is no shortage of wind. Ireland is one of the best countries to build offshore wind in (per @howarth_cornell and others).
Remember supermarket shelves being emptied ahead of storms like Ophelia?
Imagine what happens when there is no food to import due to climate related disasters, drought, even small supply chain disturbances
But don't delude yourself into thinking your safe if you live in a rich developed nation. We're all in this boat together, and if we don't act now we will face consequences.
