Two days back a derogatory hashtag was propagated against @sanabucha. This was done by a young troll team who is struggling to capture its "share" in online marketing. Like predecessors, this team is also trying to mark their presence with propaganda hashtags. #Propaganda
Somehow Pakistani youth have found a way to earn name and money through "online marketing". The easiest & safest way is to do this is by running derogatory hashtags about someone while showing affiliation to #PTI or #Army. Over the period I have found that these troll teams
try to maintain their "identity", that's why 'the big guns' don't participate actively in a hashtag that is started by another team. If trolls are so "patriotic" or "in love with @ImranKhanPTI" they would have aggressively participated in every "hashtag". Now the question is how
these teams get so many retweets? Ans: 4 categories help these troll armies to win. 1) politically/financially motivated general public who just weigh a hashtag and if it suits them, they participate in that 2) frustrated public who loves to vent out for nothing (this category
may include misogynists who would propagate anything against women, religious fundamentalist, etc) 3) die-heart fans ...the people who don't get any benefit out of their participation but 'victims' of cognitive dissonance. I will write about this phenomenon in a separate thread.
4) users intending to get attention in online space (be it followers or retweets/likes) but they are not part of any particular team.

just finished this fascinating biography of Margaret Wise Brown. among many things to note of much more importance, she dressed EXACTLY as a moodily introspective mid-century authoress ought.

most interesting, to me, is her self-penned epitaph "writer of songs and nonsense". she was disappointed her whole life that she couldn't break into the world of literature for grown-ups, and was stuck writing 'nonsense' for children. prolific, radical, brilliant nonsense!
she was a pioneer. she read her manuscripts to children and took careful notes about what interested them, listened to their stories and documented the words they liked to use, and strove to regain the perspective of a child in order to write *well* for them.
