This whole Joe Rogan/Bernie has me feeling some kinda way. It’s things like these that make me think @Twitter is doing so much more harm than good. I am truly stunned that anyone disliked Rogan this much, even the woke left. It really bums me out.

2/ As someone in the podcast sphere, I feel indebted to @joerogan He has the most popular podcast in the world for a reason. He does a free-form 3 hour conversations that could go anywhere with just about anyone. It sounds simple but it changed our discourse in a positive way.
3/ You really get to know someone when you hear them talk for hundreds of hours over several years. And never in my years listening to Joe have I ever thought he had any bigotry in his heart. He preaches compassion, openness, & listening to each other.
4/ To believe Joe is that way means either you haven’t listened to his show enough or we are having a fundamental inability to identify objective reality as it unfolds before us. We’ve lost our ability to accurately define things as they truly are. This is fucked.
5/ If Joe Rogan is racist, homophobic & transphobic, than everyone is and no one is. These words lose their meaning if you don’t reserve them for true offenders. It’s become a “boy who cried wolf”, Scarlett Letter, McCarthy-ist moral panic.
6/ If you are a prominent voice on the left with a big following & you don’t understand the power of calling someone a bigot, you are irresponsible & naive. You can’t take it back. You can’t put that genie back in the bottle. It’s a public sliming.
7/ I’ve criticized Joe on here for not pushing back enough on right wing guests but I know his show is where I can listen to Ben Shapiro, Steven Crowder, Milo, Candace Owens, Gavin McGuinness, Alex Jones & get a real feel of where they are coming from.
8/ I’m not a big fan of that group of people who actually have said racist, homophobic & transphobic things. But talking to someone who has said bigoted things doesn’t make you a bigot. This “bad person” by proxy or being adjacent to is sloppy & not nuanced.
9. And the other part of this that is pure lunacy is the idea that the far left loves Bernie, then extremely popular person with influence endorses Bernie, so then you are upset? I have never thought Trump was going to get re-elected more so than this moment.
10/ The lesson from 2016 was to abandon our echo chambers, not hunker down further. Just remember when you call Joe Rogan, Bill Maher, & Sam Harris bigots, you lose credibility when you say someone like Trump is a bigot, who he actually is one.
11/ If the center or center-left is the main target of the far left’s ire, than they need to reassess what national strategy is & what winning outside of the major cities will take. This division & mudslinging really depresses me.
12/ If you took time to slander @joerogan in the last couple days, you should be embarrassed. I don’t agree with Joe on everything but I know he does his best & his heart is in the right place. We shouldn’t demand perfection from people, just the effort to do the right thing.
