🍂He paints the first version of “Arles bedroom”, before the arrival of his friend Gauguin. The most part of the items in the room are doubled (2 chairs, 2 bottles, 2 brushes, 2 doors)

🍂But there is evidence that Gauguin did not sleep in van Gogh’s bedroom, but in the old room. Furthermore, van Gogh, few days befor Gauguin’s arrival bought 12 wicker simple chairs and a chair with ornaments.

🍂If we do a review of his works during October 1888, it begins with “The Yellow House”. The house has two floors. On the second floor, left window is van Gogh’s bedroom.

🍂The second work he paints, is the first version of the “Bedroom in Arles”. The enter the bedroom, we have to enter through the window of the “The Yellow House”. Van Gogh is protecting his privacy approaching the need of feeling safe.

🍂The next work he’s painting is “Van Gogh’s Chair” and “Gauguin’s Chair”. If we go inside by the window, first we stumble on the chair, is “Van Gogh’s Chair”, auster and wicker. On this chair he leaves his pipe and a handkerchief.

🍂“Gauguin’s Chair”, that doesn’t come up on the bedroom of van Gogh, is a chair ornamented with armrests. Holds a candle and two books. We must presume that the chair is in the next bedroom. He paints it with same purple blue, like the doors.
