I’m going to rant 4 a minute to respond to this fellow-citizen who’s been told that the parties switched sides.

It’s not true. The switched sides thing is a gross mischaracterization.
1
In summary: Unfortunately, some Republicans (R.)don’t care about black people. But at least we don’t actively exploit them like Democratic (D.)party does.

Let’s start with the voter suppression thing:
2
True, you can probably find examples of R’s trying to manipulate laws to improve their chances at the polls, but D’s do that too: why you think D’s are so excited abt importing illegal immigrants? — Political Power.
3
Re. Voter ID. This again is not abt race. R’s think blacks are smart enough to get a photo ID; D party does not. In this case, clearly it seems that it’s the D party that’s racist. Seriously, I believe you are competent enough to get an ID.
4
BTW, as I recall, Booker T. Washington was ok with only educated property owners (of any race) voting. As a modern R, I’m not even THAT right wing!
5
Re. views on race and economics. I’ve been reading everything I can find of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington, whom I admire. I barely find anything I disagree with. But there is much that D’s would disagree with.
6
Their views on race and economics are modern R views. How about identity politics? #FrederickDouglass wrote a long passage destroying racial ID politics:

7
Speaking of ID politics, here’s where the D party and the Alt-right resemble each other more than either resembles mainstream R’s. Both D party and alt-right hate people who speak out against ID politics.
8
Funny: The alt-right and D party have a lot in common. The alt-right is closer to D across a broad range of issues. Why do ppl think they are our problem?
9
D party has changed much over the years, more than R, but maybe not as much as you might think. Example, why is this D argument for abortion exactly the same as the old D argument for slavery?

10
Here’s a modern D with the same old argument: (see thread)

11
Actually, modern D’s still support several policies that they originally enacted to hurt blacks. First, Margaret Sanger was racist. Her birth control movement was for eugenics, she targeted blacks.
12
Planned Parenthood still disproportionately affects black ppl more than white. 55% of abortions were had by black and Hispanic women, who make up 29% of the population.

D has a long legacy of racism.
13
Oh, & lest we forget: that’s right, just like D party, the fascist alt-right also supports abortion, so there’s that.
14
Another racist policy D’s still support: Racist white construction labor unions enacted a minimum wage to price black work crews out of the market. After min. wage, no more competition from PoC! Crony capitalism at its finest.
15
Minimum wage still keeps the most unprivileged out of the job market where they could get experience and build their resume. It was designed to lock ppl in poverty and still does its job.
16
Would you believe that "Before federal min. wage laws were instituted in the 1930s, the black unemployment rate was slightly lower than the white unempl. rate in 1930"?
theodysseyonline.com/black-youth-un…
17
It not only hurts unprivileged who want 2 work; think of all the minority would-be entrepreneurs who would love to start a business & hire some high school kids to help out,...
18
...but wage law makes it too expensive for them. Their dreams of having their own small business are dashed — just like Black Wall Street.

(Well, at least they can hire non-Americans on UpWork for cheaper. Can’t hire & train US black youth tho.)
19
What else? We could discuss how insulting affirmative action is to black people. And since it mismatches people to edu programs, some bright black kids struggle in elite schools when they could thrive normal schools.
20
Example: NY special schools. Rather than saying,”look not many black kids passed SHSAT this year, let’s improve their schools so they can test into Stuyvesant” (which would help everyone),...
dyske.com/paper/1293
21
...instead, D’s say, “not many black kids tested into Stuyvesant, so let’s pull kids in by race, and Voilà! Now it makes us look like we’re equitable!” This D approach is to use black kids as pawns to make white politicians look good.
22
I’m just getting started. We could go into Black Lives Matter & why they were bankrolled by white billionaires & why they were courted and sainted by white billionaire-owned media conglomerates,...
23
...while other black activists like Darren Seals were ignored, brushed under the rug, &/or murdered. Why did the white elite love BLM so much?

As Malcolm X said, white liberals act friendly like foxes, so they can...

(See 19:25)
24
If we look at the BLM website we can see why white elites loved them so much. Other than the name, it seems it barely has anything to do with Black people. It’s a bizarre grab bag of leftist causes.
25
Example: what does NRA stand for? Gun rights.

What about NRLC? Pro-life.

What about BLM? The list of BLM causes is so long I don’t think I could fit it on a single tweet. That’s because what was fueled by the $ of yt elites was for them never about black ppl.
26
A strong nuclear family is the basis of a strong society. So where are the men on the BLM page?

27
Another weird thing about the movement is that they say “we are being victimized by the police, so will the police please come and take away our guns?” Why not demand gun rights like FD?
27.6
It seems to me that BLM along with the billionaire owned MSM, and the yt billionaire owned black media are all working together to destroy black America & keep my black fellow Americans down so they will vote for D’s.
28
Rather than being confident, proud, and believing in themselves that they can do great things (like they ABSOLUTELY should be), they are told to be fearful, dependent, and hopeless. (BTW, vote D,& a yt politician will help you!)
29
Look up the heartbreaking Steele & Aronson study. Only asking what your race is on a test will cause smart black students to do worse on the test. They SHOULD be confident. Black people are AMAZING. So...
30
...why aren’t they confident? Ask the yt billionaire owned media why they aren’t confident. Their incessant message of victimhood is poisonous. It’s time to break off this, which is true white supremacy, & stand up.
31
Embrace the vision of #FrederickDouglass ‘s Self Made Man. FD and #BookerTWashington were true black power men. Let’s go back to their R vision and see a rich black America bloom.

32
True. R’s should reach out more to black voters, but at least we are not exploiting them like D party does and has been doing consistently in different ways for more than a century.
33
I want to finish by saying, the R party frustrates me and often makes me angry. There are many bad R’s out there. There are also many bad Ds out there. But I believe that most people of both parties truly want the best for America.
34
There is no uniquely evil or uniquely good party in America that will save us all. We are all humans with problems. Only God can save us.
35
OK, that’s all for today. Usually I try not to be partisan. I’ll go back to sharing quotes of great men and women for the next while and try to keep party politics out of my timeline. :-)
Oh, one more thing—it’s hard to think of a more brilliant system for enforcing generational poverty than the current welfare system. Look at that gap where earning for yourself puts less $ in your pocket.

& look at how it is designed to break up families & make men redundant.
