If these numbers are close to correct ( it's a communist country so who knows) then we are looking at about 2000 cases with about 20% (almost 400) sick enough to be in critical condition. Along with asymptomatic infection of up to 14 days.

Other reports are showing a high rate of transfer.

So we have a highly contagious virus being spread asymptomatically during about a 14 day incubation period placing up to 20% of the infected into critical condition requiring hospitalization with about a 3% fatality rate.
Along with all this, we now have about 41+ million basically in quarantine, most of China travel coming to a standstill, with 29 of 31 China provinces showing cases with a high infection rate among 1st responders and cases appearing across the globe.

I understand that we have seen this "movie" before (sars, swine flu, etc) and while those events were powerful they did not raise to the fear levels that were being pushed. Many have the "boy who cried wolf" syndrome when it comes to these things.
Fair enough, there is no reason to panic. Panic never solves anything. However, it might be a good time to remind people that at the end of the the "boy who cried wolf" there was a real wolf and no one showed up to help.
This is why it's bad to push fear when there is nothing to fear. If you do then no one believes you when it's needed. I don't know if this time there is a reason to fear or not. The reports are not very comforting. Best advice is to not panic nor laugh it off but stay aware.
I'm going to try to stay as updated as I can on this event. I'll post what information I can. Just understand, I'm not doing it to panic anyone. I always think the best defense is knowledge.
