Someone asked if I use the products of the companies that sponsor and allow me to do The Portal. The answer is not all of them...but about 70-80% of them after trying them out. I don’t know if that is normal for other shows, but they are mostly great additions to everyday life. 
I’m also not much of a consumer. So a lot of these have been things that have been most unexpected additions.
Among the ones I really like and use: @BollAndBranch, @wineaccess, @expressvpn, Chili Technologies Ooler system, @skillshare, @LampsPlus etc.. And @Fender over decades.

Also we turn down sponsors that don’t feel right. And lastly @FourSigmatic is really the only company that could get me to eat f^%#*ng mushrooms. The thought of non-truffle fungus makes me physically ill. So that is totally true.

But lastly, they‘ve paid for the show: The studio time. The post-production. My time. My share of the equipment costs. And you have had a fast forward button if you hate the ads. I admit I most enjoy working with companies who let me riff, risk & deviate from old staid ad-copy.
I’m still figuring it out: Nobody loves ads for the sake of ads. But there would never have been a show without the ability to hit the ground running. Sponsors allowed me to do that so I don’t want to act too cool to acknowledge that they‘re mostly great products. At least by me.
