Everyone in the media that claims there was no active investigation and that Shokin is lying, is re-quoting one single report from Bloomberg: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
No one has looked beyond that article... they just accept it and aggregate. And spoiler alert, the person that said this to Bloomberg... was a rival of Shokin's that wanted his job. But the record clearly shows that the investigation began on February 2nd.
Another tidbit about this claim and the Bloomberg article... every journalist that parroted this, took Shokin's rival as gospel truth. They never considered anyone else's input. They never tried to verify. They got what they wanted and pushed in on the rest of us.
