Here’s a real life story yours truly faced and thought people should know it. A very close friend of mine wasn’t keeping well since a few months. We used to meet often earlier (and fyi it wasn’t the reason for his sickness) but since a year we did not. Sometimes he thought (1/5)
..it’s a stomach issue, then he had nausea, insomnia, fatigue, aches etc. He went to the doctors, got medicines, was okay for a few weeks until the cycle repeated. This went on for a year or two and he was getting sick of not knowing what’s wrong. All tests, vitals were ok (2/5)
..which made him even more confused and agitated. Until one day he met a doctor who diagnosed and concluded he was in severe depression since many months. He never thought he was in one. He had the usual share of home/office issues etc but nothing too serious until it was..(3/5)
He then took the treatment (not just pills) for it & he’s been okay even physically & back to normal self. Not to trivialize but I called him the other day & asked “Kahan hai?” He said “office mei..” to which I said “Oh I thought depression mein” He hasn’t blocked me yet.

Life lesson: DO NOT underestimate mental health and don’t shy away from talking about it. It will affect everything in and around you before you know it. Cut out all negative people & influences from life, as much as possible and find a way to counter the ones you can’t.
