Serious question: I have spoken to people who attended #AmericanDirt book events last week, I have also seen videos of those events and have also spoken with #DignidadLiteraria. Nobody has told me about specific threats that @milleria of @Flatironbooks is claiming.
Wondering if @Flatironbooks could be share more about this, since right now, many think the statement is just playing up on the very tired trope that these events will be disrupted by a Latino "mob."
@Flatironbooks Like I have said before, #DignidadLiteraria organizers have said that they do not support the decision by @Flatironbooks to cancel the book events.
@Flatironbooks This is what Macmillan press team sent to me: "Thanks for reaching out! We've forwarded along your request to the author's publicist who will be in touch with you if there is interest."

@Flatironbooks I also sent this to Macmillan press team: "Thank you. So the parent company that owns Flatiron has no comment about my questions? Can you clarify? I will also reach out to author's publicist but curious as to why Macmillan does not want to address this?" Will see what they say.
@Flatironbooks I heard back from @Flatironbooks right now and was told the following by the company's head of publicity about Bob Miller's January 29 statement about specific threats: "Bob doesn't have further comment at this time, but I will make sure to reach out to you when he does."
