Libertarians believe in free society, no rules. Anarchy. Let everyone do what they want.

Libertarians are indifferent to substance abuse. They just don’t want to pay for treatment. Abusers should pay themselves.

It’s Dominionists who push moral judgement.
Dominionists are the ones equating misfortune and illness with god’s disapproval.

It reinforces their belief that they deserve to dominate society.
Neither ideology wants to pay to treat addicts or to prevent loss of lives. Other’s deaths are irrelevant.

That’s the current base of UCP and much of CPC. Selfish and self interested. It is far right hardline conservatism.

Mark Walker apparently doesn’t like truth. Such is life.
I’m not making a partisan argument. There is tons of evidence that prevention is far cheaper than crisis treatment models.

Public healthcare is a preventative healthcare model. The cost of checkups and vaccinations is far cheaper than responding to disease outbreaks.
One quick glance at the chaos happening in China right now is all one needs to verify prevention is cheaper.

But it requires changing behaviour that some don’t want to change, like foisting blame on victims or changing the way we do business.

Hey Canada!

Take a look at what a DPA (Deferred Prosecution Agreement) could have actually done with SNC in Canada.

Strict Terms and Conditions to be met.

SNC just pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and paid $250M in fines. Which is peanuts to them.
Was that the plan from the beginning by making a mountain over a mole hill. Was claiming undue pressure the fix from the start?

JWR stalls the decision. Creates a scandal. CPC and other opposition drum up fake scandal & populist support.
Do a little digging & you can see CPC is implicated in many of the scandals (bribery and money laundering).

But we will never know bc the details of the plea only include what the corporation pleaded guilty to, not the actual crimes that could have been proven with evidence.

Charlie Angus is critical of judiciary decision re: victim of abuse. Calling on Federal Government to intervene.

Undermining the decisions of a separate branch of government is tantamount to insurrection, and by an experienced MP, borders on sedition.
Adding to this serious infraction, Angus doubles down and demands the Indigenous Relations Minister, Caroline Bennet, to override the decision and provide compensation for the victim’s family.

A call to breach the separation of powers between executive and judicial branches.
Some may think this is just political rhetoric.

It’s not.

It’s the second opposition political party in Canada demanding the executive branch of government throw out the rule of law and override the third branch of government’s decision making authority. The other is CPC.

1. Everyone should have a #sidehustle. It is a way to make some extra money and can be useful as insurance in case you lose that ever important day job. Your side hustle doesn't have to be a main gig and should be started with a specific goal in mind.
For instance, perhaps you have a vacation coming up and you want to make some extra money to pay for it. Maybe you want to pay off those #studentloans and you can use a side hustle to do it. or maybe you are bored out of your mind and want something to occupy your time.

Roughly twice a month I am contacted by a physician somewhere in the US who is, effectively, being extorted. How are they being extorted? 1/x
These physicians are forced to either pay tens of thousands of dollars to for-profit evaluation/treatment centers or else they lose their ability to practice medicine.

A lot of women care about the men they’re having sex with. Ofttimes, they don’t want to hurt their feelings or bruise their ego. So they lie there being penetrated and moaning for absolutely nothing. And so men believe they’ve done a thing.
This has resulted in a lot of straight men who are bad at sex. They’re simply not receiving proper instruction or feedback. If you are a straight man who is having sex with a woman, you need to say straight up, “Show me how to please your body.” Instructional sex is important.

So here is my layman’s understanding of how mental health treatment works for Americans in 2018. Correct me where my understanding is wrong. Around the mid 20th century, we relied more intensively on residential centers for both short and long term care - the “mental asylum”.
At some point - and if someone wants to, please explain more of this historical and economic event - the US “de-institutionalized” whereby I think those many hospitals were defunded and slowly were discontinued. As it was nationwide, I’m not sure if that means they lose federal
funding, if there were key federal legislation, or for some reasons states coordinated, but it seems to be mostly a secular event wrapping across all the states whereby residencies in these hospitals declined. Part of this seemed to be supply side - there were macro restructuring

(1) To my knowledge there's only only one policy issue on which I potentially disagree with President Trump. I say potentially because its so nuanced I can't yet be sure if we really disagree. It's on the issue of the proper medical uses of opioid therapy for chronic pain.
(2) Absolutely agree with Trump's laser focus on the #OpioidCrisis, which kills 60k p/a. Obama did very little to address the tragedy. I think his actions & omissions were what suited the health industry lobbyists. He also didn't want tougher sentencing if it affected minorities.
(3) Most of the opioid crisis is driven by illicit use, with drugs trafficked illegally from cartels or the diversion of pharma drugs from the supply chain before they are lawfully dispensed by pharmacies.

A) No, no, they are included! The point is, you don't want to falsely attribute a bankruptcy to a heart attack. (1/2)
Let's say someone's business failed. Their life's a financial wreck. They consult a bankruptcy attorney, who says "It's time to file." They start getting their paperwork together. The stress gives them a heart attack. The attorney says, "Welp, let's put those bills in the filing"
