What do you do when you get caught spreading bullshit. Block the truth from your twitter feed so that truth doesn’t confuse the koolaid drinkers.

Sheesh! How predictable!?

Mark Walker apparently doesn’t like truth. Such is life.
I’m not making a partisan argument. There is tons of evidence that prevention is far cheaper than crisis treatment models.

Public healthcare is a preventative healthcare model. The cost of checkups and vaccinations is far cheaper than responding to disease outbreaks.
One quick glance at the chaos happening in China right now is all one needs to verify prevention is cheaper.

But it requires changing behaviour that some don’t want to change, like foisting blame on victims or changing the way we do business.
China’s costs aren’t limited to their healthcare interventions. They’ve basically shut down their economy and lost millions, maybe billions, in investments and trade opportunities.

Far more expensive than changing outdoor food market health and safety standards.
No the citizens won’t like it at first. Mainland China has resisted public health changes to traditional Chinese activities that are known to be unsafe. China has produced three of the last 5 viral outbreaks and epidemics since SARS.
That’s an expensive commitment to crisis management vs the billions in financial costs and human lives that CPC chooses to maintain.

Culture is important and defines who we are. But cultures change over time. They are organic.
Adapting to prevention is difficult.

I hated wearing a seatbelt when the laws changed.

But the numbers of deaths from auto accidents, and the expense of treating survivors dropped dramatically after those laws went into effect.
There are people who still refuse to wear their seat belt. We don’t deny them care if they are in an accident.

We also don’t moralize those choices, even though they cost the public significantly more in treatment and loss of economic contribution.
But SoCons have always targeted the most vulnerable in society.

Mental health and substance abuse go hand in hand. Without support systems in place (like supervised sites), many are shunned from society. A burden society pays for in multitudes when it doesn’t have to.
If effective fully funded mental healthcare and social safety nets are in place, we wouldn’t need expensive treatment centres, overburdened emergency responses, police intervention, or SoCon condemnation. That is fact, not partisanship.
But what would SoCons do to make themselves feel useful? They would just move on to another vulnerable population.

Controlling their own lives isn’t enough. They seek to control others bc it makes them feel superior.

That opinion is partisan. Based on the accompanying facts.
I know the difference between truth and partisanship. But does Mr. Walker?

For a group of people who bark about taxpayer infringement so often, they sure don’t like it when you point out their ideology is economically more costly to implement.
