Given how much backlash this terrible joke has produced, I may have to put on my dark brown trench coat and go into hiding. So if you don't see me for a while, it's because I'm incommuno-avocado.
I guess I should have predicted that something as volatile as an interdisciplinary History/Chemistry joke would get a strong reaction.

I have some thoughts about governing and the people who choose to govern others.
Although it is rarely talked about, the whole point of politics is governing.
Thread, possibly long.
2. For whatever their personal reasons, all people who wish to be part of the government, any government, any place, any time, believe it appropriate that they should have power over others.
3. Although I would only be guessing, I would suspect Barach Obama felt so, at least partly, because he was pretty sure there weren't that many people around as smart as him*. Sort of an intellectual exercise. And he ran an intellectual Presidency.
