Something suspicious is going on in Moscow. "New political party" being announced with Kremlin pals Steven Seagal and homophobic actor Ivan Okhlobystin in front row seats.
It is a party called "For Truth" and its leader is writer Zakhar Prilepin who killed Ukrainians in Donbass.
Looks like more of Putin's legitimacy efforts, demonstrating Russia has a lot of parties, although they all support him.
Dmitri Medvedev has remained the leader of United Russia, so presumably Putin plans to discredit them and blame them for all the problems, and have a new "party of power".
Zakhar Prilepin claimed to be hooked up to a lie detector when he answered questions about his party from friends. Previously he had boasted that he didn't lose any sleep over the Ukrainians he killed in Donbass. 
Prilepin's war crimes didn't stop him from winning an award from @Tribeca for a short film based on his time in Donbass.
@Tribeca Co-founder of For Truth Alexander Kazakov says at the event that Russia's war in Donbass helped the region to preserve traditional values.
@Tribeca This is a signal that after Putin pushes through his constitutional reforms the country will be even more unashamedly fascist.
@Tribeca Ivan Okhlobystin, who has said he wants to put all gays into ovens, tells the audience about the great mission of Russian civilisation, which is not to let the world destroy itself.
@Tribeca Some of these party founders were also in Putin's "working group" on the constitutional reforms. Okhlobystin says he wants to change the constitution to remove the ban on a state ideology.
@Tribeca Russian citizen Steven Seagal spoke English and was aided by an interpreter. He said that he wants all countries to unite for world peace. The audience was pleased that he said goodbye to them in Russian.
@Tribeca In a press conference afterwards Zakhar Prilepin says that Steven Seagal is a person that everyone knows and trusts, a very educated man who can be far more effective than any Greta Thunberg.
@Tribeca Steven Seagal also says he likes Zakhar Prilepin and that he himself is happy to work as a diplomat rather than become a Russian MP (speaking Russian may be a requirement for that).
@Tribeca A participant in the event says the new party may have a competitor in the shape of a party founded by the creator of the game World of Tanks.
@Tribeca At the end of the event Donbass war criminal Zakhar Prilepin was unanimously elected as party leader.
