His next film will be called Rhinoceros - he started working on it before he was jailed in 2014.
The guards in prison gave him a particularly hard time because they hate Ukrainians and enemies of Putin, he said.
Asked if Russia would make concessions in Donbass, he said he doesn't trust Putin, who is a cynical person who always attacks as in Georgia and Ukraine, and would do the same in Belarus if Lukashenko were overthrown.
"Putin does not seek peace, he seeks subordination."
"Putin is building something that could be viewed as a parody of the Soviet Union. Today's Russia is authoritarian and it is moving steadily towards totalitarianism." He gives control of the internet as an example.
Sentsov hopes the Russians will overthrow Putin and his criminal regime because he can't be beaten from the outside, he says in answer to a question about protests from former UK ambassador to Russia Andrew Wood.
"Putin is not going anywhere in 2024, they will devise some kind of a trick and he will stay in power. We cannot afford to wait that long. Nor can the Russian people."
"I don't know what kept me going (in prison), but it was very important to know that people supported me, every letter was a drop of hope."
Every country that puts human rights first should break off all relations with Russia, Sentsov says, comparing Putin to a rapist who breaks into your house. "He behaves this way because he feels no resistance."
You don't have to go far to see this, Putin poisoned the Skripals in the UK, Sentsov says. "Russia put on a poker face denying its very involvement."
"Putin is trying to annihilate the Ukrainian nation, the Ukrainian state, to make us into his obedient slaves."
Even in prison when their lives have been destroyed Russians believe Putin, which is the result of 20 years of brainwashing propaganda, Sentsov says.
For five years TV channels have been saying fascists seized power in Ukraine - a completely perverse alternate reality that Russians believe in, Sentsov says. "The only way to overcome a lie is to speak the truth."

Amnesty is campaigning for other Crimeans who have received long sentences.
After his talk Amnesty presented Sentsov with a shirt that says "Truth will win" in Crimean Tatar, Ukrainian and Russian.
