Yep OK - so we had to raise the price quite significantly, from £16.99 to £25. Sorry about this. Really didn't want to do it.

I've written a lot. The thing is a beast. Kind of a history of the modern world. So we had to add page count but also opt for a larger format.
Anyone who has pre-ordered the book will of course still get it for the original price of £16.99. We're also holding that price until the end of the week for further pre-orders. So if you are thinking of it, now would be a good time to grab it.

Braverman is a problem in all sorts of ways, mostly on the basis of her political views and her utter lack of even minimal competence. Her use of the lunatic phrase 'cultural Marxism', if nothing else, demonstrated that beyond doubt.
But this is more dangerous than that. She is being put in place in preparation for the coming attack on the judiciary.

This is unspeakable. The Home Office is out of control.
If there is a problem with the passport, they should present him with the evidence and provide a decent time period for him to make representations in the UK.
Unilaterally revoking it and leaving him stranded in a foreign country is unjust and unconscionable.

The courts are there to ascertain the legitimacy of the decision and the rights of those affected. This is what it means to live in a free country, with protections against state power and scrutiny of government decision-making.
If Shapps doesn't like it, there are plenty of countries without these protections which he is welcome to move to.
I hear Cuba is lovely this time of year.

One, I applied for a job there about 2 years ago.

Second, around that time I went to the Atlantic Ag Tech panel, featuring some MIT Media Lab folks.
Around two years ago the MIT Media Lab announced a job posting. It was a WILD AND CRAZY job posting because they're a WILD AND CRAZY lab!

I feel like driving up some controversy, so how about a thread of Hot Takes/Unpopular Opinions! You know the drill, one like = one take/opinion.

Start easy: the blunt awkwardness/cringe of 'Blurryface' is the point of taking the piss out of Tyler. I stand by my light 9/10.
2. I don't hate Nickelback's 'Dark Horse' - it's easily a record for them at their most tasteless, but the frat-bro swagger of it helps some of their better hooks.
3. 'Fireflies' by Owl City is a genuinely terrific song that captures precocious, starry-eyed wonderment better than few others in the 2000s.

It is SPECTACULARLY lame, but that's why it works.
