been trying to figure out for years why truck hoods are like a full foot taller than the top of the bed. it looks like unspeakable dog shit. it looks like a joke 
if i had a reason to buy a truck I would absolutely refuse to ever own one newer than 1998 when the front end started getting taller and taller. you can't even work on these goddamn things, what's it like opening the hood? you're like eye level with the valve covers.
it's not like f150s in 1994 were somehow lacking in power so "big engan" doesn't excuse anything imo
like yes i know it kills pedestrians, no argument there, but i'm also saying that it looks like absolute shit, just total garbage, just the worst look possible for an object. standing next to one of these is just the worst feeling. it's the opposite of seeing a muscle car.
i cannot imagine a car less cool than a 2010s truck.
one of my favorite things is that country singers have no idea what to do with them. they look *so awkward* in all their Big Truck pics because you can't lean on them and you can't sit on the hood and you can't sit inside of them so they just kind of stand near them
can't even really put your arm on the hood because - and this is another huge reason they look like shit - the hood ramps off at the end instead of being squared off, which looks objectively better. this isn't even aesthetics. i'm not open to debate

okay so i knew about regulations making many of the parts of cars uglier and i support them but i didn't think this was one of them. sounds like it might be, so okay, i'm generally for it then. however it does mean trucks aren't remotely cool anymore
people should get with the program. they're ugly utility vehicles at best. stop posing in front of them they look really silly
