RAND says he intends to read on the Senate floor this AM the question that Chief Justice Roberts wouldn't read the other day.
And he just did it, including putting the text of the queston — which includes the name of the alleged whistleblower — on a placard alongside him.
NEW: Rand Paul used his final impeachment speech to name the person alleged to be the whistleblower on the Senate floor.

Chief Justice Roberts arrives with his briefcase, and the Senate is now in session for the President's impeachment trial
This means there will be no tie vote on whether to call witnesses. The Senate is now starting 4 hours of arguments on whether to subpoena witnesses and documents.
Schiff starts by quoting from today's latest NY Times story about Bolton / Trump / Ukraine. Schiff specifically name checks Cipollone. "There's a new fact which indicates that Mr. Cipollone was among those who was in the loop."

Chief Justice Roberts just released his 2019 year-end report on the federal judiciary. At the close of his jauntily written tribute to civic education, I detect a subtle rebuke of some conservative lower-court judges whose recent opinions read like partisan screeds. 1/
He begins with a story of John Jay, the least prolific of the three Federalist Papers authors. It seems he sustained a head wound from a rioter’s rock that thrust Hamilton and Madison into their headliner roles. 2/
Roberts then laments (w/ a somewhat clunky transition) that civic education has “fallen by the wayside” and praises the “judges and staff of our federal courts” for helping to spread the good word on America’s constitutional experiment. 3/
