Now a quite cynical note (please forgive me): Everyone not understanding the power of micro-targeting please look at it like this: You’re the kid with an impossible dream, micro-targeting is pretending to bring you Batman. It’s not just about hate & fear. Also about this feeling.
That’s why fact checking doesn’t work: once in you want to believe it’s true. Even when you know it isn’t. Just to make that feeling last a little longer.
Ok now how can we “untrigger“ that?

It makes me sad that people felt so unheard by politicians they settled with "Please screw us!" and celebrated when -finally!- they got what they had voted for.
(Altho it must be noted the politicians they voted for did promise escape from the hell *they* had shamelessly created)
(And I don't just mean the UK. Gosh the power of propaganda, taking advantage on the facts humans would rather be against something than hoping for better)

If you don't know the difference between what the DNC says/does and what the Iowa Democratic Party says/does, it's possible you don't know enough about what's going on to have unraveled a big conspiracy.
There's absolutely no way anyone at the DNC thinks this is a good outcome, nor was it their Zeppelin to bring in for a landing.

But the notion of an all-powerful DNC is essential to the appeal of a candidate who runs on grievances against them.
If you want to understand the process by which a candidate becomes the nominee, a good place to start is by learning how much is done at the state and local level, on a shoestring budget, by volunteers.

If you care about the process and don't want to just declare your guy best.

Ok Tweeps this is my Sunday morning thread. I may or may not write it up. This is on ‘neutrality’ in situations of injustice & oppression. An evergreen issue and particularly relevant one. Anyway a few thoughts.
Anyone who has ever encountered any form of structural injustice or let’s just say difficulty would have hit the stumbling block of so called neutrality if they attempted to seek support from those with more power in a position to help or at least hold to account.
Neutrality can mean different things 2 different people. I looked it up to ensure a common understanding.
