As a Councilman in #SouthBend, I know why @PeteButtigieg looked like a deer in headlights last night when talking about systemic racism in the South Bend Police. He tolerated it, he perpetuated it, and last night he lied to millions of Americans about it.
@LinseyDavis: "Mayor Buttigieg, under your leadership as Mayor, a Black resident in South Bend, Indiana was four times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than a white resident." Pete: "The overall rate was lower than national" Davis: "No, there was an increase."
More @LinseyDavis: "The year before you were in office, it was lower. Once you became in office in 2012, that number went up. In 2018, the last number year that we have a record for, that number was still up." That is true true true. Pete was trying to deceive and whitewash.
