[THREAD] How To Date Abroad **JUICY!** #30DaysOfThreads

Dating while traveling is definitely in the Top 5 most asked questions I get… so here it goes...

First, let me say that ninjas are ninjas are ninjas - no matter where you go in the world. (I’m only into men so I’ll just share my experiences with dating men while traveling and living abroad).

But I am assuming women can have ninja tendencies too... lol

However, the ninjaness (yes - I made that word up) has different levels in different parts of the world.

After traveling to 70+ countries… I can say with 100% complete confidence that the Ninjaness in the USofA rank at the top.

Anyway. . .

Here are 5 Hacks/ Strategies/ Things You Can Do To Successfully Date Abroad. . .

1) APPS: Use international dating apps. @Tinder in the States is a wasteland IMO, but in many parts of the world, people use Tinder to make genuine connections.

Use popular local and international apps, to meet new people.

Be CLEAR and open.
Tell them you’re new in town or visiting and you’d love to experience the city like a local.

On that alone…
I’ve gone on soooooooo many dates! People genuinely love to show you their city and share through food, culture, music, etc.

2) BE OUT: A lot of my travel has been solo over the past few years.
Can it get lonely?
Hell yeah.. if you’re just sitting in your hotel room surfing the ‘net.
So find things to get into! Whether it’s a museum, a festival, or sitting at a coffee shop - just be OUT!

I’ve found that making small talk has been enough.
People hear my Southern American accent (although I don’t think I have a southern accent) and they want to know “where are you from?!”, “what are you doing here?!” etc.

Easy way to start conversations. . .

I’ve been invited to dinners, weddings, out to dance, etc., just off being out and about.

If you're 'shy' or hell, even 'funny acting', this is a great opportunity for you to push past your comfort zone and learn how to communicate with other strangers.

PRO TIP: Ladies, look GOOD going out.
Whatever ‘good’ means to you.
The better you look, the better you feel, and the more you’ll attract great people and experiences to you!

I almost never leave the house without a lippy, highlighter, and mascara/lashes. #ButThatsJustMe

3) BOUNDARIES: This goes without saying.
Make it very clear what you want and what you want to do upfront.
If you want to have sex or just go on a date - this is all up to YOU.
Just make it clear and stand firm in that decision.

4) SAFETY: Use common sense.
Wait. I forgot everyone isn’t blessed with this.
Tell your friends, your parents, share your location, send his details to the Group Chat - whatever.

5) HAVE FUN!:
He may (or may not) be your Sweet-Boo - and that’s fine.

Just learn how to just ENJOY people and experiences.

At the very minimum, you’ll see something different, make a new friend, or have a cool story to tell.

BONUS: Here’s a pic of a guy I went on a date with while I was in #Marrakech some yrs ago.
I just met him walking through the market.
We chatted, had dinner, smoked hookah, and genuinely just vibed.
We walked around the market, got ice cream, and I took my ass home.
