'The importance of this first 2020 youth strike (happening valentines!) has been no more clearly emphasised than by the recent Storm Ciara events which have devastated towns and cities across the UK.'
..our team .. are real people who come out .. because we want those we love to be safe .. now and in the future.'
And here's why:'
Mishandled management of the surrounding pennine areas and a systemic lack of investment and priority at the national level in tackling and adapting to the climate crisis, IS KILLING PEOPLE.'
I am beyond angry.'
Take care of yourself:
I understand if it's too much today to acknowledge, fine.
Tomorrow, fine.'
And by something I mean ANYTHING.
Come down to Leeds Town Hall at 11-3pm.
Share any youth strike event on your social media. Email people. Spread the word!'
Because how can we not?
It is all change that's needed.
And its urgent.'
265 council & 1 parliamentary climate emergency declaration in the uk is not enough.
We need action now.
To protect communities.
To cut carbon so others are not put in danger.'
Love & Rage,
Shannon Jackson
Youth Strike organiser & angry northerner.'
