It was so bad that pretty much any time a reporter asked a bank about a particular case the bank HQ would straighten it out immediately.

After applying for a modification in April, then receiving foreclosure threats, this woman got a letter from Chase in August saying:
“You are going through tough times — we can help...In fact, we believe your home loan may be eligible for a loan modification program.”
