To all of you lazy-ass "Vote Blue No Matter Who" people, I have a question:

Who exactly are you addressing with this command?

Because I don't understand what kind of voter you think responds to something like this.

1/
It was a great hashtag for the 2018 election - reminding people it's not about the individual Democrats who might be on the ticket, it's about the House.

"Vote Blue" made sense. It makes sense in any general election.

But it makes ZERO sense in a primary.

2/
The VBNMW hashtag is used to silence people who are trying to vet candidates.

It's a cop out for people who don't want to get their hands dirty and make tough decisions.

It seems to be primarily deployed by women arguing that we should "stop being mean."

3/
Anyone trying to vet candidates already understands the importance of vetting. There is no reasonable argument against vetting.

And while you might be able to bully someone into momentary silence, that doesn't mean you've bullied them into agreeing to vote for Warren.

4/
Anyone who doesn't self-identify as "blue" just sees this stupid hashtag as Democrats being just as bad as Republicans.

Blind tribalism. A command that we should fall in line behind a leader who has yet to be determined and follow them like sheep.

No.

5/
I am a Democrat. I have been a Democrat my entire life. I have made a career out of working in Democratic politics. (Don't believe everything the Bernie Bros tell you.)

But I am not committed to the label.

I will not line up behind someone just because they are "blue"

6/
If the Democratic party under the leadership of Tom Perez fully capitulates to the fringe left and nominates Bernie or Warren, two deeply flawed individuals who share a phantasmagorical platform that is repellent to the average American, I'm out.

7/
It's a moot argument anyway. If Bernie or Warren win the nomination, they will lose to Trump. No matter how many furious hashtags you tweet

Democrats might tolerate the idea of socialized medicine, but it terrifies moderates and it's the strongest motivator GOP has against us
8/
You can tall yourself Warren's platform doesn't matter, but it does.

You can tell yourself it's not really socialism, but it is. M4A is socialized medicine. By definition.

And even discussing what is and is not "socialism" is bad for ALL Democrats.

9/
If Warren or Bernie win the nomination, true Democrats - anyone who is committed to the values the Democratic party used to stand for - will have work on cutting our losses. We will have to turn our attention to saving down-ballot Democrats. Because the presidency is lost.

10/
We will have to put forward an alternative so that state-level Democrats don't have to endorse a "socialist"

That person cannot win. Under our current first-past-the-post system, a third party cannot win. They can only play spoiler.

11/
That's why Bernie and the Justice Democrats are all running as Democrats instead of starting a third party. They need the party's infrastructure.

Their plan - it's even on their web site - is to force out all traditional Democrats then rebuild the party in Bernie's image.

12/
Forcing out traditional Democrats means either beating them in primaries or causing them to lose to Republicans. JDs don't care- whatever gets them out of the way.

Banging the drum about how "socialism is awesome and people are just too stupid to understand" is part of that.
13/
So all of you who want Warren because you want a woman and claim you support her but not her platform or say her platform doesn't matter because "she can moderate later" -

Y'all are being used as pawns by Bernie and the Justice Dems in their quest to destroy the Democrats.

14/
I don't understand that anyway - what does it mean to support a candidate and not her platform? It makes no sense.

The Des Moines Register tried to parse that difference, which ended up making their endorsement irrelevant. A joke.

15/
Down-ballot Dems in deep blue districts can probably get away with endorsing Warren or Bernie. But swing districts? Forget it. Kiss of Death.

Wiping out Democrats up and down the ballot is what AOC and Bernie want. So they can take over the party.

We have to put up a fight.
16/
We will need to give state-level Democrats someone else to endorse, even if that person isn't going to win.

State-level races are the most important consideration. We have to hold the House, take back the Senate, and win the statehouses.

17/
In a census year, statehouse races are the most important.

Even more important than beating Trump.
#RedistrictingMattersMore

If GOP controls redistricting and implements REDMAP Phase 3, the Democratic party will cease to exist.

And the Justice Dems get their way.

18/
If you want to beat Trump, stop silencing people with a nonsensical hashtag and GET INVOLVED.

If you're worried about Dems refusing to vote for the nominee, let's nominate someone Dems will vote for.

If you want to beat Trump, let's nominate someone who can beat him!

19/
(I'm going to leave this open so I can come back to it later)
Here's a thread I did earlier about what will have to happen if Bernie or Warren win the nomination.
