The Innisfail Tramway (2' gauge) had some unique 7 foot guards vans.

Probably c 1940s at Innisfail.
Stay tuned for an interesting tale.
In the early 1990s I received a phone call from a Fairfield resident who said he had a railway van in his back yard. Been used as a chook shed. I went to the property.
What did I find? I found the remains of an Innisfail 7' guards van ...
This was a very interesting find of course.
Here is better side photograph.
We set about laying out the roof sections.
Builders plate ...
As it happened I had been building HOn2 models of the van. Here is one of the models on top of the original roof support of the van.
A photograph of the model van on a narrow gauge model layout I had built.
How did the van end up in the back yard at Fairfield?
The property originally belonged to a QR employee. It is believed when the tramway closed he had transported to his residence in Fairfield.
