Last week I said that in spite of her good performance Klobuchar was generally “inconsistent, boring, and third place,” and the only practical effect would be to set her loose on Buttigieg. That was borne out tonight. She did nothing to help herself.
Nothing Bloomberg did is a surprise to those of us in or around New York. He had the air of a Rockefeller making a one-legged man dance for a nickel. The woman thing will give the press food for weeks.
Buttigieg rolled with the punches early, and delivered a few. Altogether he looked better than last week, but there was nothing distinguishing. Klobuchar made him look small. A wash, I think.
Warren getting Bloomberg on the stand -- for that is what she did -- was a remarkable performance. It won't wake the dead but it may perhaps win back some people who've wavered. She cannot be ignored in the press anymore.
Biden once again had a fair amount of subject-verb agreement, yet seemed angry it's come to this. The weird late punch about Hispanics only serves to remind Sanders has something like 65% of them in Nevada.
Sanders did nothing to hurt himself, and no one landed a convincing punch on him. He was quick to disown the bullies, again called for unity, parried the Communist charge, etc. He spoke like one in control.
I don't know who the hell Biden thought he was kidding about McConnell. Warren kicked him in the teeth.
I would only add that Warren is the lawyer Kamala Harris pretends to be.
