I don’t know what the sentence will be but no matter what I want to start a Judge Amy Berman Jackson fan club.
If the live tweets and other reports fairly reflect Judge Jackson’s remarks today, then the transcript of Stone’s sentencing should be held up as a testament to the rule of law.
And a testament to the wisdom of Article III’s establishment of an independent judiciary with life tenure.

Donald Trump is now openly tweeting out instructions to Attorney General William Barr. And he has good evidence that this is going to be effective in getting him what he wants. So what happens when what he wants are his perceived enemies or political opponents to be prosecuted?

Going to try the supposedly impossible today, syncing an Ethereum full node from scratch.

(Yes, I'm downloading and storing every block and computing and validating each and every state transition from genesis)
Ethereum Syncing Diary - Day 1 (24 hrs)

Installing and running parity full node was very easy. Literally just ran 3 commands:

$ brew tap paritytech/paritytech
$ brew install parity --devel
$ parity --no-warp --min-peers=50 --max-peers=100 --db-compaction=ssd --cache-size=16384
I was a bit concerned that the recommended installation instructions had nothing in them about verifying release signatures or reproducing builds. Just trust the GitHub repo or run binaries. Only thing I saw was a SHA256 binary checksum to double-check (pretty useless).
