The 2020 election is going to hinge on what happens with the #coronavirus. We can talk about Bernie or Trump or favorabilities or whatever, but if people start dying due to bureaucratic incompetence and stuff stops showing up in stores politics becomes... different.
The politics of desperation do not look like the politics of affluence. I go over this in Goliath. I centered my analysis on supply chains and the politics of production. 1932 was an election in which production fell apart. simonandschuster.com/books/Goliath/…
Here's what a labor leader said in 1932: "If the Congress of the United States and this administration does not do something to meet this situation adequately, next winter it will not be a cry to save the hungry but it will be a cry to save the government.
Trump will be annihilated politically as people will begin pointing fingers his way. It'll be like a Katrina on a national scale, but I think we'll figure our way out.

Hopefully I'm wrong and the trade types beat out the Larry Kudlow's in the WH.
The right will go hard on border security re: #coronavirus, the left will push national health care. It could get extremely messy.

The national security world is so out of touch they haven't though about supply chains and instead focus on bots saying nice things about Bernie.
