So I screwed something up massively in this video, and I'd like to apologize for it.
No, not the "talking about Nazis" thing. I'm the Jewish grandson of a survivor; my relationship with the Holocaust is both complicated and not something I'm going to discuss today. We all walk our own paths.
What I screwed up on was a throwaway comment. Midway through, one character turns to another and mentions getting Terabytes and Gigabytes confused. It's a good line, except it's the only line in the entire video spoken by a woman.
"Women get confused by computers" is a tired, sexist trope that's advanced by the worst people on the internet. It was never my intention to lend that perception any credence whatsoever.
If you believe women are worse at technology than men, you are deeply mistaken, and living with your head in a hole.
I'd like to point out that nobody is born aware of these things; we learn as we go through life, often by getting it wrong. If you read this apology and get defensive, think perhaps I shouldn't apologize, I'd urge you to re-evaluate your own biases.
In conclusion, I'm deeply sorry for my shitty, thoughtless joke. I will strive to do better.
