Kenney has tabled a Bill to remove certain civil liberties in Alberta.

The bill, if passed into law, is unconstitutional.

But that is not the point.
This is red meat for those who prefer authoritarian rule vs law and order.

It gives those who seek to control dissent tacit approval.

It’s the action of a despot. Common to all dictatorships.
The right to assemble and protest is a Charter right and freedom in Canada.

The significance of a premier attempting to over turn the Charter of Rights and Freedoms can NOT be undersold.
If you weren’t convinced Kenney is leading the province, and concurrently the nation, towards autocracy and full blown dictatorship, you can have no doubt now.

Attacking civil liberties is the first step in establishing authoritarianism.
This isn’t a drill. It’s time to be concerned and push back.

The public must let conservatives know this behaviour and these attacks will not be tolerated.

Which gives rise to the question... is there something indigenous protesters are trying to communicate to Canadians?
Perhaps it’s time Canadians examined the issues indigenous protests are attempting to be brought to light.

Maybe there is something behind the national blockades that indigenous people are attempting to protect. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_lib…
Instead of reacting in anger and frustration and attempting to limit protests to places that garner limited attention, maybe Canadians need to try to understand what is so desperate that indigenous people are willing to disrupt every Canadian’s homeostasis to get their attention?
Ironically, that is reconciliation.
And there can be no reconciliation without an attempt at a conciliatory approach.
All signs point to the magnitude of the grievance indigenous people have as being quite significant.

Wet’suwet’en are claiming BC govt and the owners of CGL manipulated the law to acquire band chief approvals.

That is what they are protesting. Not the pipeline itself.
Indigenous protests are calling attention to Kenney, who recently invested significant AB financial resources (through AIMCo) in the pipeline, revealing his vested interest in eliminating dissent, and who just tabled a bill to remove civil liberties & the ability to dissent.
Maybe there is something to that stinky set of circumstances.
