Returned from Japan. Within 3 days. 102F fever, coughing, and aches. All routine tests came back negative at the hospital that requested the CDC to carry out COVID testing.

REFUSED. Discharged to ride the subway -whatever.

Self isolated. Still has symptoms
If this is a true account the CDC and the American Government has no idea what they are doing.

Richest country in the world creating condition to exacerbate an already very serious world situation.

IF this is right then we are talking COVID in USA WA State on c 24th Jan 2020 but no systematic detection

I am not absolutely sure I have understood the certainty levels here. Could @mikegalsworthy @AdamHartScience @AdamRutherford or someone in the science communications world look at this thread to check out the implications?
I think it is saying to a degree of high probability that #COVID19 was present in Washington State USA at the end of Jan. I am not at all clear about the source or circumstances of the sample tested but that seems to be material.

It is understandable that Iranians feel frightened and angry towards their Government and public health system given the woeful response to #Covid19...but burying a clinic can only make their fate worse.

Trust and truth telling are important in public health.
Cases and deaths have risen markedly today and their 7.5% mortality rate suggests plenty more to be identified.

V worrying.

It looks as if mass graves are being dug.

No wonder people are angry. Apparently it is being said the Gov kept early deaths and illness hidden because they wanted a high turn out at the election.

Wow. Wham.

This man is outraged and you can tell at the end he is very upset.

He doesn’t hold back about Priti Patel and he refused a pay out. He is going to speak out.

And he is speaking for other civil servants who cannot.
He said he asked her to moderate her behaviour towards the staff in the department.

“I have received reports that she has shouted and sworn at people. Belittled them and made unreasonable demands”.

Similar reports to when she was in Dfid.

“An orchestrated campaign”
Oh. And he says that she had lied. Or rather “I don’t believe her”.

That is what a senior civil servant is like when, after 35 years on the job, he thinks he and his 35k staff have been treated unfairly.

On Fri I had a bad seizure & 911 had to be called. Last yr I almost drowned so I have hella PTSD about suffocating. When they brought me into the hospital I freaked out when I came to cuz I had a tube down my throat & felt like I was suffocating
The doctors marked me with combative disorder, strapped me down & took about 7 men to hold me down. The docs also said my Sundance ceremony scars were self mutilation & used that & my history of seeing a psychologist to try to send me to the psych ward
I’ve been in the hospital since Friday. Western medicine does not know how to handle or care for Indigenous people

When I was a garden writer, the industry’s biggest priority was getting young adults to garden. Nobody could figure out why they weren’t gardening as much as older generations!

Now, as a homeowner, I understand.

Here’s a thread.
First of all, many of us young adults can’t afford to own a home.

Those of us who can afford it are prioritizing by spending money on repairs:

Either we’ve inherited bottom-of-the-barrel and neglected older houses, or bought new houses that were built quickly and cheaply.
Those of us young adults who live in condos and apartments often do end up gardening, because it requires less time and money.

But the gardening industry doesn’t stand to make much money from them.

Two, cops tased this guy six times in the neck for supposedly selling drugs in 2011. Now he’s a vegetable. They say he swallowed the drugs which caused his brain damage, but toxicology tests came back negative. His dad visits his care facility every day. philly.com/philly/columni…
