Personal goal: Travel to less touristy places.

Even in popular countries, I want to spend less time in big cities, and more time in small villages where I can meet the locals.

In general... the more different the country, the more transformative the travel experience.

Traveling with locals is the key. I’m planning a trip to rural Panama in April, which is only possible because I have a friend showing me around. The travel experience is much better when a local can take you by the hand, introduce you to their family, and show you their country.

Here are some photos from a 2019 road trip through rural parts of northern Morocco. Once again, traveling with a friend who grew up in Casablanca made this trip possible.

Hank has dealt with the feds getting called in on his case once before, during the red ice ring investigation. It isn’t always bad having them there - the partnership was what put the red ice ring away in the end...although of course that didn’t stop that surgeon

from being too high on it to operate on Cole.

This is different, though. It doesn’t take someone clued in to the deviancy cases to realize they’re on the brink of something big here, that times are changing at a pace none of them can control - although some of them will sure

as fuck try.

And when tensions are that high, there’s much more room to point fingers and pass blame. The FBI has already made it clear in all their correspondence that they don’t think the DPD has done enough in the wake of the deviancy crisis to control it.

Her name was Marie. She was a wisp of a thing with hands designed small for precision in surgery.

She wasn’t supposed to be operating alone. The surgeon who was high on red ice that night let her down just the

same as he did Cole.

Marie had a plain face, and blue eyes that were no less searching for it. She was still wearing her bloody scrubs when she came up to see Hank.
