I’ve had a number of people with relatively new accounts, and with whom I’ve never interacted before, giving me supposed first-hand accounts from coronavirus hot spots.
We are in a disinformation war. Unless someone can be verified as being real, and the information they’re sharing can be INDEPENDENTLY verified, I suggest not sharing and instead sharing info from verifiable medical experts.
Example: anonymous account with painting as a profile pic claims to be a doctor (or whatever) somewhere to be observing x shocking thing—don’t share.
These anonymous accounts could very well be telling the truth...or not. This is serious, and disinformation greatly handicaps efforts to protect those most vulnerable.
