Over the past decade, Elizabeth Warren became a hero to me and helped shape my political point of view. I sincerely feel the best way to honor what she stands for is by supporting the remaining candidate who most closely resembles her values, which is by far Bernie Sanders.
Yesterday, Warren advised us to "choose to fight only righteous fights." For me, lining up behind Biden’s return to the status quo does not feel like a righteous fight. We must look forward not back. Bernie can help create “big, structural change.”
Warren on Biden a few days ago: "No matter how many Washington insiders tell you to support him, nominating their fellow Washington insider will not meet this moment. Nominating a man who says we do not need any fundamental change in this country will not meet this moment."
To fellow Warren supporters who can't decide which candidate to support, consider taking this policy quiz. I agree with Bernie on 17/20 questions and Biden on -- I shit you not! -- 1/20. He's out of step with where our party needs to go. washingtonpost.com/graphics/polit…
Democratic power players not rallying around Warren when she was the frontrunner last fall infuriated me. They could've united us all. But too much of the party hugs the status quo, rejects progressive change. It's time to push this party into a much more progressive direction.
I made a commitment to fight for Warren for as long as she was in the race. No regrets. My favorite presidential candidate ever. I’ll always be a Warren Democrat. She must be a part of the next admin. VP, Treasury Sec, Senate Majority Leader, etc.
Fellow Warren Democrats, there's a much better case for Bernie than Biden. Bernie and Warren share similar goals. Bernie understands what we are up against with the GOP. Getting Joe to adopt Warren-like policies or truly bring the fight to the Republican Party looks impossible.
It’s also important to point out that ELIZABETH WARREN GOT INTO POLITICS TO STOP JOE BIDEN’S BANKRUPTCY BILL.
One belief I have about the general election is whoever wants it most typically has a good shot to win. Bernie's revolution wants it even more than the MAGA nutjobs do. He has built a passionate, diverse, working-class coalition that can fund a grassroots war chest.
Re: down-ballot races, Biden is too chummy with the GOP. I want someone who wants to beat the GOP, not befriend them. Trump vs. HRC was supposed to be great for Dem House, Senate candidates. Can't assume Biden > Sanders here. Don't see the enthusiasm needed to turn out the vote.
I have analyzed the positives and negatives of both candidates. I have a few concerns with Sanders, as I did with all the candidates. Still, between Biden’s harmful record, inappropriate behavior, moderate platform and poor debate/campaign performances, the choice was easy.
As the son of a cancer survivor, I know we desperately need Medicare for All. Our planet is running out of time, and the Green New Deal can save it. Bernie will lead these fights, and like Warren will push for a wealth tax, anti-corruption measures and universal childcare.
To my Team Warren fam who are with Biden, I disagree, but respectfully. It is your right to decide! I'm proud of the work we did together. Other than Bernie 2016, no other first-time POTUS campaign built as much grassroots $ support. This movement planted a lot of seeds. #LFG🩸🦷
TL;DR - My heart is with Warren. My head now has to be with Bernie. He can win, and I believe he is the best-remaining bet to achieve significant progress. But I will also 100% support the eventual nominee and help signal boost Democratic House and Senate candidates.
