Eleven years ago today, then-Harvard Law Prof Elizabeth Warren told my friend @dcroth & me that she would not be able to come and speak w/ our @acslaw chapter in Columbus, Ohio, because she had to spend “every possible minute” on research or “pushing for some policy changes.”
We tried again in December of that year, 2008, but, by then, folks in DC were asking for her help in dealing with the financial crisis — so she had to focus on that. Then came the CFPB, and the Senate, and now the race for the presidency.
After watching her at work and seeing the first two debates, I was proud to donate to the first candidate I’ve donated to in more than a decade: Elizabeth Warren.
It’s been amazing to watch her rise to this point, and, though I am certain that others on that Democratic stage would make a fine president as well, I am proud to support her candidacy for the Democratic nomination.
(As always, though, because I’m me, I still look forward to questioning her and all of the other candidates and challenging them to be their best and, then, holding them accountable for their promises.)
