When you dedicate some time daily dhikr (to remember Allah) you attain a kind of joy that is inexplicable. The greatest enjoyment that can ever be experienced by a human being is that which is attained through Allah’s dhikr. All the other joys in the world are temporary. #sulūk
Allah Ta’ala mentions in a Hadith Qudsi, “He who remembers me to himself, I remember him to Myself...” What bounty can be greater than this special remembrance of Allah?
The hardest thing upon the childish lower-self is to sit in silent contemplation with Allah... away from all the social media and worldly distractions. Because once a person removes distractions, you are face to face with the reality of the world and the reality of the self.
If you cannot face the reality of your own deficiencies & shortcomings, then no matter how much you worship, you will remain deficient. Yes, you wil have fulfilled your obligation of prayer, but you won’t receive its spiritual peace without contemplative introspection.
Take out 5 minutes from your daily schedule and turn to Allah with full devotion in dhikr, repeating “La ilaha ilallah”, negating all the selfishness & darknesses of the heart.
Allah says, “I am with my slave as He remembers me and his lips move in My remembrance...”
