DeWine continues being a national leader here, and I hope his fellow governors (and local officials and federal officials) are watching.
This is a good point, and I’m sure there are other missteps as well:
But DeWine does at least appear to be taking it seriously and taking many essential public health-necessitated steps.

Please, do not gather in large groups or go to places, particularly indoor spaces, where many people gather. Stay home if you can. This virus is spreading and we don’t know where and how far because of the poor testing capacity. Act NOW to slow spread and save lives.

A few words about the chemical industry. As no-one goes to their local car dealership to buy the latest model of acetophenone it is not in the press or social media very often but the industry is much the same size as the automotive one and employs a similar number of people.
Like the automotive industry the European market is heavily integrated and mutually dependent. The biggest players are Germany, UK and France. There are a handful of very big players but thousands of SMEs in the sector.
It is also heavily regulated and EU (including EEA) REACH legislation is the most thorough in the world. It is that way not to ban everything but to ensure that the hazards are well defined according to good science.

Going from waitressing a year ago to now carries a LOT of life-adjustments.

But 3 paychecks in has shown me how 1 of the greatest scams in US is the idea that financial struggle is due to “poor character.”

It’s a huge myth designed to keep people from empowering themselves. /1
When I was waitressing, I used to jerk awake in the middle of sleep worried that I may have forgotten if a bill cleared, or if I had enough 💰 to pay a Dr in cash.

Was that bc I was “irresponsible?” No. It’s bc I wasn’t being paid a living wage as cost of living skyrocketed. /2
Now I’m going through a huge income transition compared to living off tips (which diff pay every week, very hard).

& I have HEALTH INSURANCE, which now means I have fewer expenses.

According to banks, I’d be more “responsible,” but my character hasn’t changed. Just my math. /3

Going to bump this editorial from last year as unfortunately relevant again. So long as law enforcement fails to take white nationalist terrorism seriously, the platforms are going to lag in their track record compared to how they've done with ISIS nytimes.com/2018/11/24/opi…
And I'm not sure how much of their "success" with ISIS is actual success versus the waning power of ISIS on the ground.
In any case, I think Scott Shane's reporting around the battle over Anwar al-Awlaki's YouTube presence is an illuminating case study for alt-right extremism today.
