Public announcement means she has the numbers in the House to pass.

Qu now is whether the Republican-held Senate will pass in full or not.

Pelosi:

Pelosi has talked to Treasury Sec Steve Mnuchin 16 TIMES in the last two days, per her spokesman @Drew_Hammill.

Eight today [so far], eight yesterday. Trump will need to sign whatever comes out of Congress for it to take effect.

An insight into what’s coming from the Seattle area of Washington, the worst affected bit of the US.

No gatherings of 250+. All Catholic Church services stopped. People told sitting shoulder-to-shoulder at bars is now “totally unacceptable”.
Governor’s order capping gatherings at 250 applies to:

“social, spiritual and recreational activities including, but not limited to, community, civic, public, leisure, faith-based, or sporting events; parades; concerts; festivals; conventions; fundraisers; +similar activities”
Governor said the order will be enforced if violated.

He added: “The penalties are, you might be killing your granddad if you don’t do it, and I’m serious about this.”

Been taking a closer look at the #paidsickdays and #familyleave provisions of the #familiesfirst Coronavirus Response Act that the House just passed. Some first impressions.
The bill amends the #FMLA AND has a new Act that requires private employers with fewer than 500 workers and all public employers to offer #paidsickleave.
Mandatory #paidsickleave ONLY applies if you are affected by #coronavirus and need time off because you are sick or exposed or if you have a family member who is affected (either sick or home from school or childcare because of closures).

Today, we will pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act after reaching an agreement with the Administration. This legislation builds on the action that House Democrats took last week to put #FamiliesFirst with our strong, bipartisan $8.3 billion emergency funding package.
#FamiliesFirst is about testing, testing, testing. To stop the spread of the virus, we have secured free #coronavirus testing for everyone who needs a test, including the uninsured.
For families’ economic security, #FamiliesFirst secures paid emergency leave with two weeks of paid sick leave and up to three months of paid family and medical leave. We have also secured enhanced Unemployment insurance for those who lose their jobs.

On March 3, the Cmte sent a letter to CDC director Robert Redfield requesting the following breakdown on coronavirus cases. ⬇️

There have been lingering questions over how CDC has reported its data and for a time, the agency yanked coronavirus test rate reports off of its website altogether. Yesterday, dir. Redfield vowed that CDC would restore reporting online.
