The people responsible for this disaster are the ones who used our differences to separate us, who pitted us against each other to prevent progress, who pushed toxic zero-sum politics that infected our society and made this possible.

The same forces that created inequality and prevented healthcare as a human right did so by intentionally fomenting division and tribalism. They failed to govern, failed to provide anything useful to the people, and have hidden it time and time again.

Republicans made it their political strategy to deny basic healthcare reform or medical progress at every turn. They wanted to deny Democrats a political victory and forsaked us. They created this situation and they’re floundering in it.
