The Ordinance envisions the setting up of Claims Tribunals, which will adjudicate on complaints of damage to both public and private property caused during riots.
Section 19(2) of the Ordinance states once a Claims Tribunal passes an order for recovery of damages, the name, address and photograph of the person found responsible shall be published.

Today-Prashant Bhushan says that the report of the Committee led by Justice Singhvi has been submitted.
One of the recommendation is that the exam may not be scrapped to which Mr. Bhushan objects.

1. As per the established process followed all over the world, every Judge is duty bound to follow propriety of highest level and in view of it he is expected to immediately rescue himself from the cases in which he has conflict of interest because of his relatives.
2. If in a case any relatives of the Judge are directly or indirectly involved then it becomes the foremost duty of the judge to refrain himself from hearing that particular case and pass the case to some other judge for adjudication.

Let me explain what’s happening in the Supreme Court right now. It’s very important for a very prevelant and a very sensitive topic for this country - judicial corruption.
Yesterday, Justice Chelameswar ordered setting up of a 5-judge bench EXCLUDING the Chief Justice of India to probe allegations of bribes being paid to allegedly influence outcome of cases in the top court.
Another petition (which was filed on the same issue earlier) came up for hearing today and was tagged along with yesterday’s case. Both were to be heard on Monday.
