2/ current indy gym sent out notice that it was closing and suspending everyone's membership, ie., turning off auto-payments and pro-rating what had already been paid. This afternoon she got an update from the old multi-site gym explaining how after much thought and balancing ...
3/ and abundance of caution they have made the decision to close the gym at 8 pm this evening. Left unsaid, this morning Gov. Cuomo signed an executive ordering all gyms in NYS to close at 8 PM this evening. No mention of payments.
4/ To be clear, companies like this, especially small ones face impossible situations now, probably like a dramatic and complete cut off of revenue. I can only imagine what the owners are thinking, what the good ones are thinking about how long they can pay employees with
5/ no revenue coming in. Even worse for employees who face the possibility of imminent job loss. So I don't want to throw stones. But you can still see differences in how different companies confront the situation.
