My uncle died of Covid-19 today in California. He was 78 years old & had Parkinson's Disease. Went on some cruise prior to all the warnings. Went home, got ill, went to ER. Admitted. Lungs failed. ICU. Kidneys failed. Opted to DNR per MD 100% mortality rate opinion when pressed🙁
This shit is serious folks. He's dead. Nothing they could've done to stop it either. Nothing. We asked repeatedly. We were told to not visit him in hospital. Or risk infection and a minimum 14 day quarantine. Nightmare people. Absolute nightmare.
He spent 10 years serving this country in Vietnam. Retired from the USMC with rank of Captain. Funny story...he was run over by a water buffalo and broke his hip while on patrol in Nam. Left country shortly thereafter. We still have the beast's horn somewhere.
Let me clarify. We pressed med staff for prognosis and stats/probability of recovery. They refused to commit to any %. We pressed them repeatedly. Finally, after his kidneys failed a doc told us he would not recover. No treatment options. Comfort was not guaranteed. We DNR'd. Sad
OK. For the CSI techs out there. 10 yrs in Marine Corp. Part of which (I believe just shy of 24 months) was spent in Vietnam. Broke his hip (water buffalo incident). Spent time on an Aircraft Carrier (do not know which one). I hate having to defend this tweet & prove his valor.
You'd be shocked at how many people accuse me of lying. Citing some article or stats on #COVID19 deaths in CA over last week. My only agenda for posting was to get message out about seriousness & reality of pandemic. I typically don't post personal stuff on parody acct.
