Everything depends on a context or frame of reference as they say.

When you watch the news the context is one way only: worst case scenario.

It’s good to be aware of that scenario, but it’s one side.

The key is to see all sides, then make your own analysis.
We have to think of others, because whether you admit it or not we are all dependent on each other to an extent.

The phone you carry was made by someone else, as an example.

But you have to take the data at hand (“good” and “bad”) and make your own intelligence product.
In other words how does the data relate to you?

Once you find that, you can help yourself, help others, and actually make a “difference” as so many say.

But the idea of sitting back and saying we should all be concerned, etc, makes no difference if you haven’t seen both sides.

Prima, definizioni.

Il tasso di letalità è il numero di persone che muoiono tra i contagiati.

È molto diverso dal tasso di mortalità, che invece stima quante persone muoiano nella popolazione generale (inclusi i sani), e che dipende dalla prevalenza del virus nella popolazione.
Nel corso delle epidemie, di solito il tasso di letalità parte "alto" e poi converge verso un valore realistico.

Ci sono diverse ragioni per cui succede: per esempio spesso ci accorgiamo del virus con i primi decessi e casi gravi, e solo poi capiamo quanto sia diffuso.

#COVIDー19 @ewarren @BernieSanders We need a progressive agenda on epidemics STAT! There is going to be panic, an emergency, hoarding and if Dems in office and Dem candidates do not prepare an agenda that is more than Trump is screwing up then Trump ultimately will win.
1. RELIEF FUND: Until we have univ. health care we need an emergency health relief fund. The # of critical cases, meaning cases requiring significant medical intervention, are more than ten fold the number of deaths. For many this will result bankruptcy levels of medical debt.
2. ER COVERAGE: Health Insurance companies should not be allowed to deny coverage for treatments that are not 'pre-approved' or "FDA approved' as all of the treatment options for severe cases of COVID are 'off-label'

#COVID-19: It’s possible to get infected a 2nd time. People recovered by their own immune system, but the meds they use are damaging their heart, and when they get it the 2nd time, the antibody makes it worse, and they die of sudden heart failure.

I don't find this unexpected. We had similar results in the study of SARS. Challenge with the virus after vaccination actually made the resulting disease worse. One theory is this may be due to an overactive immune response due to a cytokine storm.
What I find really troubling is doctors in China had to report this anonymously to avoid communist censorship. We are not getting the whole story here. Keep in mind we don't yet know how many cases this involves and we'll have to wait for more case studies in other countries.
